Here is our Prayer for Vocations
Within our own parish, we have been privileged to have one of our own parishioners answer his call to vocation. Dan is entering his final year of diaconate formation. Dan and his wife, Anne, have been members of St. Peter's since 2016. Many of you will recognize Ann as a lector at the 9:30 am Sunday Mass and hear Dan's voice in the tenor section of the choir at the same Mass. Others of you will know both Anne and Dan from the other ministries in which they participate.
A vocation to the permanent diaconate often comes to married men, most of whom have a family and full-time jobs. It just so happens that Dan's discernment began in earnest after he retired from the Navy.
Dan was ordained by Cardinal Sean O'Malley at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 9th at Holy Cross Cathedral in Boston. We are fortunate and verygrateful that Cardinal Sean as assigned Dan to remain with us at Mary Queen of Martyrs. Dan's first Mass as a deacon, was September 10, 2023 at Saint Peter's. Followed by a celebration with friends, family, and parishioners at St. Peter's Parish Center.

A documentary film produced by Saint John’s Seminary in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Boston. Souls in the Game highlights priestly formation beyond the study of philosophy and theology. It tells the story of seminary formation through the lens of fraternity, sportsmanship, and the dedication of a basketball team striving to support each other beyond the wood of the court as they grow in the understanding of their own vocations.
