A Computer Programmer’s Guide to Sainthood As technology has become an ever present part of our daily lives, many people wonder how much it is really helping us become the best version of ourselves. While the easy solution might be to long for “the good old days”, should we try to take a different approach? Are there ways we can actually use this technology for good? One example of this is young Carlo Acutis, whose devotion to the Eucharist and website design experience led him to create a website documenting Eucharistic miracles and approved Marian apparitions around the world and cataloguing them in a website. This seemingly small step allowed him to share his faith with many people around the world even after his untimely death in 2006. On a recent pilgrimage to Italy, Fr. Paul Aveni felt a special connection to the now Blessed (maybe one day Saint) Carlo Acutis, reflecting on the ways his own background in Computer Science had played a role in his faith journey. Come hear Fr. Paul speak more about his road to becoming a Priest in the Archdiocese of Boston and how technology can enhance our faith life when we use it wisely. Fr. Aveni celebrated the 25th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood in May 2023. A native Plymouthian who grew up in Manomet, he is currently the Pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Ann by the Sea Collaborative in Marshfield. You do not want to miss this!
