Even today, the Catholic Church continues to receive requests for help from people in distress who fear the demonic. Dr. Christine Williams is part of the Church's professional and ministerial network who accompany these individuals. She will share the wisdom she has gathered from priests in this ministry as to how we as the faithful should understand the real concerns about evil and the power of our faith in this battle (hint: regular confession is essential!) Dr. Williams is a licensed psychologist in private practice who lives and works in Salem, MA. She is part of the Leadership Team of Mary Queen of Apostles parish, overseeing small groups and the healing ministry. She also consults for the Office of Canonical Affairs of the Archdiocese of Boston and has presented for Divine Renovation, an organization committed to parish renewal and evangelization.
Her PhD research focused on vocational development, and her current specialties include trauma recovery and the intersection of spiritual and mental health. Prior to private practice she was involved in university counseling center leadership, the training of mental health professionals, and teaching at various institutions in the greater Boston area
